Thanks to Zoe Saldana’s Instagram feed, we have learned that at least one of the regular stars of the new Star Trek feature film series has been brought back to help with the reshoots that we started to hear about a few days ago.
Joining Zoe is Joe Taslim – and again, we found out about Joe’s involvement thanks to his Instagram.
Right now, we’re not sure if they’re sharing scenes with Shohreh Aghdashloo, but it’s probably safe to assume that’s happening. Shohreh is playing a brand new character that appears to have been added just for the reshoots, and her character has been described as someone in a position of power in either Starfleet or the United Federation of Planets.
A recent report has also suggested Chris Pine has been involved in the reshoots as well – check out that article at TrekCore.
The TrekCore article states that the reshoots are almost done. There still isn’t a great deal of information around what the reshoots are focusing on, but it would seem they take place on Earth, and they might be a new ‘coda’ for the film, wrapping up whatever adventure it is the crew of the Enterprise has survived.
As more news comes to light, I’ll post it up here.
